Tourism Cultural in Barcelona: Güell Palace
The small palace.
Gaudí was commissioned with the work of constructing the palace on a site measuring 18 x 12 metres with a dome, stained glass windows and stairs that create an optical illusion making the palace seem larger than it is.
View of dome in main hall
The building was constructed on top of some basements with mushroom-shaped columns with pyramid trunks. The entrance doors are iron work with coiled sculptured snakes that represent movement. The big central hall has a parabolic cupola. The beautiful terrace is a true outdoor museum.
