The Anella Olímpica

Barcelona offers numerous interesting places to visit and the Anella Olímpica is definitively one of them. It is also known as Montjuïc’s “Olympic Ring”. It used to be one of the major competition sites used during the 1992 games.

The Capella Santa Àgata

This beautiful tourist attraction in Barcelona belongs to the Palacio Real Mayo. Capella Santa Àgata is a religious building that is highly visited by tourist and locals. It is situated on Plaça del Rei in the town of Barcelona.

This is a building of medieval origin that has a clear Gothic style. It was built in the early 14th century. It is a magnificent church has the typical single nave that is characteristic of the Gothic style. Inside the Capella Santa Àgata you can admire beautiful chapels and stained-glass windows.

L’Aquàrium de Barcelona

L’Aquàrium de Barcelona is a spectacular center on the moll d’Espanya del Port vell N/N. The Port Olímpic in Barcelona

The Port Olímpic in Barcelona is an entertainment and leisure zone that was built in 1988 for the 1992 Olympic Games. At present, it has become one of the most popular sites in Barcelona.

In the port you will find many excellent bars, restaurants and dance clubs to enjoy the wonderful nightlife of the place. From there you can admire the extraordinary twin skyscrapers, Mapfre Tower and Hotel Arts Barcelona.

Casa Milà, Barcelona

Casa Milà is better known as La Pedrera. This wonderful building, which was designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí, is most visited by tourists. It is situated at 92, Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona.

The UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 1984. There are free exhibitions on the first floor.

Tibidabo

Tibidabo in Barcelona is a significant attraction that appeals to numerous tourists and locals. It is a mountain that is overlooking Barcelona, one important tourist destination in Spain that has a lot to offer. Tibidabo is an impressive mountain since it is 512 meters where you can get wonderful views of the city and the coastline.

Montjuïc in Barcelona is worth a visit

Montjuïc is a well known hill located in Barcelona reside the harbour. From there you can have a wonderful view of the city. There are great art galleries in the Montjuïc.
The top of Montjuïc was the site of numerous fortifications. The people of the neighbouring Ciutat Vella used the slopes of the Montjuïc to grow food and graze animals.

In Montjuïc you can visit Palau Nacional, the Olympic stadium, the ornate Font Màgica fountains, among many other interesting sites. The Palau Nacional houses the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, which is an fascinating place to visit.
In the northwest of Montjuic you can get in touch with Poble Espanyol, which is a village. And you can also visit the sport facilities that were used during the Olympic Games in 1992. You should visit the Palau Sant Jordi. It is great.

The Santa Maria del Pi Church in Barcelona

This beautiful church in Barcelona is an imposing building that is visited by locals and tourists. The Santa Maria del Pi church, which was built between 1319-1320 and 1391, has a clear gothic style.

It is known that in 1936 there was a fire and the high altar, the statues, the choir-stalls dating from 1868, and other things were reduces to ashes. However, at present there is a high altar that was inaugurated in 1967 and there is a statue of Santa Maria del Pi that is 3.30 m high.
The Santa Maria del Pi church has baroque choir-stalls dating from 1771 that are beautiful. There you can also appreciate the famous Belfry, which is an octagonal structure that measures 54 high. It has six bells.

Parks in Barcelona

There are numerous parks in Barcelona. There are 68 municipal parks; among them we can find 12 historic parks, 45 urban parks, 5 botanical parks and 6 forest parks. Some of them are: Park Güell, Labyrinth Park and Orenetra Castle Park.

The Parks in Barcelona occupy 10% of the land. Montjuïc, the Guinardó Park and Diagonal Mar Park are wonderful parks in Barcelona that are visited by locals and tourists.
Although there are a lot of parks to visit and enjoy we recommend to visit Ciutadella Park because there you can appreciate the Parliament, many museums, among other attractions.
